Weekly Discussion Questions

  • Provide the dictionary definition of remnant.

  • What remnant story is found in Genesis 6:9-22?

  • What remnant story is found in I Kings 19:3-10,18?

  • Can you connect last week’s lesson regarding justice to the concept of a remnant and be encouraged?  Romans 11:5, Jeremiah 23:3.

  • What can God do with a remnant?  Judges 6:14-16.

  • Does God require a majority? Does He require the best and brightest and biggest?  See II Chronicles 20:15, 17.

  • Have you heard the song Ordinary People?  “Little becomes much when you place it in the Master’s hands.”  Can you think of little things in Bible stories that illustrate this truth?

  • How many people witnessed Jesus’ ascension and heard His charge?  Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:9-11.

  • Does that qualify as a remnant?  What did God accomplish with them?

Prayer: Ask God to triumph through His remnant and that you will be counted faithful.
