Weekly Discussion Questions

I Kings 6 gives a description of the original temple.  There is no description of the one Haggai references, but these verses indicate it wasn’t as physically impressive.  In these verses, Haggai reminds the Jews of the future hope of God’s Kingdom.

  • Did you read books or see movies in the 70s about Jesus’ return?

  • Verse 3 - Were the Jews Haggai addressed satisfied with their new temple?

  • What is the truth that overshadows the physical temple completely?  II Corinthians 6:16.

  • What were some practical drawbacks of the physical temple?

  • Is it okay to pray for Jesus’ soon return? Why?

  • Why should we pray that prayer? II Peter 3:13, Revelation 22:20.

  • Revelation 21 describes a new holy city.  Read verses 1-4.  According to verse 3, what is the unique and most awesome attribute of the “dwelling?”

  • Why is there no physical temple in the New Jerusalem?  Revelation 21:22-27.
