Weekly Discussion Questions

  • Why was Jonah displeased?  What attributes of God's character are mentioned in verse two?

  • If Jonah knew so much of God's grace and compassionate heart why do you think he was he so surprised that God did not destroy Nineveh ?

  • Do you think a knowledge of God's love and mercy would help your relationship with God? (see 2 Peter 1:1-3)

  • God used a brilliant illustration to show Jonah why he did not destroy Nineveh. (verse 5 - 11)  Has God ever given you a picture or illustration on the need to preach the gospel?  Share it with your group.

Prayer: Father, forgive us for our lack compassion.  Give us a heart for those lost in sin that we may share the gospel with them that they may be saved.
